The simple act of Ron toying with Ginny's hair, a behavior of intimacy between the siblings, some normalcy - that broke my heart the most in that ficlet. Oh, and Hermione breaking her wand and returning to the Muggle world. I tend to think that's what they should have done after the war, as they should have been quite broken and the magical world with all its prying eyes would be no comfortable place for them. The trio in particular should have left, though god knows the terrors ginny, neville, luna and the rest of the student body experienced during that dreadful year would have broken them too.

Snape/Lily = broken heart, tears for the reader. Oh, if Snape had actually received such a message before he died!
