Challenge #13: Miscommunication.
Word Count: 310-ish (sorry had to hand count it...T_T)

It was completely understandable...how their relationship could be misconstrued.
Between the constant flailing, the arguments, the scolding, the blunt remarks....
The reddened cheeks (obviously from the strain of yelling, not from the completely unexpected emotions the other caused) or perhaps the emotionless face that continued with its lingering glances (from concern of things he couldn't see, dangers; not from the fact that he was becoming increasingly obsessed with what was actually in-front of him.)
How pent-up want became subtle teasing. How fear of emotions became the fuel for overly-zealous rantings.
This was no different.
"So you were being possessed?" Doumeki tried to clarify, his small shine of hope starting to deflate.
"Of COURSE!" Watanuki quickly responded, trying to get out of this terrible terrible mess he had woken-up in. "There's no way in HELL I would act like that otherwise!!" He elaborated, willing his blood to rush away from his face, to spread evenly through his body and not manage to pool in any other area either.
The haunted boy sat up quickly from the ruffled bed, trying to pull up his black pants that had been riding dangerously low on his hips, then scavenging for his shirt. He was suddenly stopped by the eerie silence radiating from the half-clothed Doumeki whose brows were furrowed in deep concentration.
"Of course." Doumeki said quietly. "It was just a misunderstanding." He continued, small disappointment seeping through his emotionless tone. Watanuki looked at him, trying to read the foreign expression, but was stopped when he was pulled back to the floor by the swift archer.
"But," He started, pinning the smaller boy beneath him, his warm breath against Watanuki's ear, "I want to make a few things clear."
And Doumeki did indeed make their new situation quiet clear.
Now things were the same, with only the slightest difference.
One misconception down, only about two handfuls left to go.
