[It has been a strange month.
Of course, Tarrant is quite used to strange--and he didn't think it was quite strange himself, more everyday happenstance. This particular kind of strange is nearly too strange for a man who's known strange most of his natural life.
That is quite strange.
And so, on a surprisingly quiet day, the Hatter is headed

Today is just like any other, perhaps a little hotter but not as sticky as the one before, and today, Klartch wants to window-shop and Cat wants to spend some of his allowance on sweets. So the boy walks beside the young griffin, still more a baby as its (his) talons scratch at the pavement, keeping a hand on occasion between his still small wings, tucking into feather to keep him from dashing at every shop.
Cat has to press a little harder as they approach the odd-looking man standing in front of a not yet open shop. Pausing some feet away, Cat looks up at the building as well.]
Hullo. Will it open soon?
[It's just a feeling that the shop might belong to the man; something in the smile. If it doesn't, the adult would know better than he anyway ( ... )

I certainly hope it will. Very soon. It is a rather nice shop, isn't it? A little dark, a little empty--all soon remedied--a place for everything, and everything in it's place, I think it is.

[Cat agrees, and Klartch echoes, Nice! But really, he's caught more by the man's appearance than the shop. He forces his attention back. It might be Christopher's sort of place.]

[he turns a dreamy smile to the space next to him--...his smile drops, confused--surely there was someone standing next to him...then thinks to glance down, seeing Cat, and grins]
Oh! Good day.

So of course when he saw the new installation, he'd had to poke about, ask about- and imagine the pique in curiosity when the man who'd gone in was described as an "odd looking fellow with a weird hat". Isn't that what they used to call him, back in Lebroux? Odd.
Naturally, he'd need pursue this further.
A knock on the door, curious, would do for a start.]
[ooc; Mad Hatter meet... a Mad Hatter. I JUST HAD TO.]

I'm just coming!
[he leans the heavy things against a wall, brushes off his coat, and snatches up his hat on his way to the door. With a smile he swings it open with a nod]
Salutations and greetings! May I be of service?

Hello, hello, good sir! Passing by, you see, and I meant to inquire.
[Hat placed back on his head with a smile, and a gesture to the shop.]
About the upcoming nature of the upcoming shop, I mean. Curious, I was!
[It would take a skillful person to note the fact that the rather odd sounding voice coming from the doll on his shoulder was Break's own- his mouth didn't move.]
He was bored, he means!

Oh, yes, yes--! [he takes a look inside his shop with pride, and returns his attention to the rather impeccably dressed stranger before him--as well as the rather forward friend on his shoulder]
Quite the good companion, curiosity--though often confused with boredom--it is my hope that I will soon be opening a Hat shop! I'm a Hatter, you see, by life and trade. That is quite an impressive one you have there, sir, very impressive indeed.

It is during a quick glance up to ascertain her whereabouts that Reinette spots the Hatter, not more than a few feet ahead, smiling up at the building in front of him. She remembers that she still owes the man quite the thank you for the dress he made for her. It was a lovely creation, and she felt it quite the shame that she wouldn't be able to take it back to her world.
She makes her way over to him, dodging the other passersby. ]
Good morning, Tarrant.

Yes, good morning, glorrific, fairfarren, brightly gay of a morning, isn't it? Yes, good morning indeed...
[he tears his eyes away at last to glance at her--then glances again, and brightens instantly, finally realizing who it is]
Reinette! Good morning, indeed!

It has been some time since we last spoke- I believe it was upon the receipt of the gown you crafted for me. How have you been?
Reply
It has! I've been quite busy myself--I do hope you caused a sensation at your engagement, my skill can go only so far for the wearer you know. I've been well, better than I've been in annuls.
How have you been, my friend?
