i researched a bit into the week after x-mas.....if its only 6 people going, theres several two bed condos within walking distance. A couple have private hot tubs on the balcony and those are looking about 350.00 a night. canadien. so...not half bad. hmmmmmm

Are these in the Village, or walking distance to the Village? If they're in the Village, then damn nice find. If they're walking distance, then remember that John is adamant about being in the Village, whereas Tom would be happy to be walking distance if it saved some money and was quieter at night.

15 minute walk to the gondola for both mountains.

15 minutes is a long fuckoff time, plus the gondolas are farther out than the rest of the stuff. If it's 15 minutes to the gondolas, then it's probly like half an hour to the Village and lifts, bah. It was annoying to take shuttles to the village at Keystone, so while I'm not insisting on being in the Village (mucho dinero), I will insist on everything being a short walk.

on second thought...link please. I've put in a few hours looking at places there, so I am curious where these fit into the spectrum.

Just for Tom so you understand whistler. If you are not in the village, you are nowhere.

And if you are in the village, its a short walk to get to the slopes. Depends where exactly, but when we were with andy & that crew back in the day we had to walk about 10 mins (estimated) to the lifts and while annoying, it wasnt horrifying.

And what are you bitching about? You get to wear super comfy snowboard boots, its the skiers like Brad that are allowed to get cranky about walking long distances.

Also, if it matters for any planning, consider me an almost definate no.

I don't mind a bit of a walk, far from it. I just don't want a place that's "walking distance" to some things, but requires a shuttle for others. I don't know Whistler, but I can read a map eh. Mebbe I should just let you guys pick the place, since we have the same goals: Private hot tub and walking distance to everything.

Also, the walk from the condo in keystone was about the same distance as this will be.

i will continue to search for more options today, and then my vote is for securing the place within the next couple weeks so we guarantee we have it. vote yes or no?

i'm getting nearly as excited as nick about a ski trip. wierd.

I agree with locking it down soon, however we should check for deals on these specific units, like of those gazillion sites that have whistler rentals, search them for only Glacier's Reach and Valhalla. Once we're reasonably certain that we have the best price we're gonna get, then let's jump on it.

That said...I'm in no position to contribute funds right now, so whoever reserves it will have to wait a while before I can pay them back.

talk to johnny boy. his family is considering renting the place for the week previous to us being there.....thus we rent it for 2 weeks...thus the price falls to 375.00 canadien. thus in u.s. dollhairs if only 5 of us go, its still only gonna be 70 bucks a person, per night. thus we greatly reduce the cost of lodging. thus thusly.

i think that finances will be able to be covered for the time being....depending on how much the place wants up front. hmmmm.... hope the seabrookes go for it. GO FOR IT SEABROOKES!!!
