It's amazing what people come up with when they don't have much to criticize a candidate for.

I disagree that Obama's approach to solving problems and the lessons he took from his failures are trivial matters. This article addresses root causes, albeit glibly, since the underlying analysis is very old news to the author and his readers.

Out of curiosity, what do you think are the principal causes of the failure of communities like the South Side of Chicago? Are they political or cultural, and are the principal solutions political or cultural?

What an asshole, going into community organizing. He should have been out inventing metal alloys and giving extended monologues on selfishness.

Doing something fundamentally ineffective but altruistic for a nice salary is not better for the world than creating something that improves everyone's lives at a much greater profit. And of course he shouldn't do something he is not interested in: that would be self-sacrifice. He can go into charity if he wants to. But, Obama has moved on, following in a venerable tradition of Democrats who graduated from dismal failure at subsidized charity to ruling the free world on the strength of their extended monologues on servitude.
