[Summary] Well it was either this or let Link near the liquid again. Dark Link didn't think that would be such a good idea, so he allowed his pride to be sapped for his light.
Silly Tradition
Dark Link raised a pewter eyebrow at his partner who was rummaging around in a dusty box. True, he had agreed to this little activity to keep Link far away from the liquor that was notoriously passed around this time of year. His light had no stanch for alcohol, hell, he got tipsy off of Chateau Romani. Though Dark Link always wondered if that was pure milk, as it seemed to only be sold to those noted as adults.
So, instead, Dark Link agreed to this little secret activity, though he was a bit curious as to what Link had planned. Link had chuckled when he asked what it was, and said it was a respectable activity in Termina. Dark Link couldn’t know much about Termina, because he had only been there in passing, and definitely not during the Festival. Which of course is what his light was chattering about as he rummaged in the box.
A shot of triumphant had him turning, and he flinched. In Link’s hand was the Fierce Deity Mask that Dark Link was quite intimate with as Link had explained it to him several times. "Ah, if I known you were going to be frisky, I would have dressed more comfortably." Dark Link chimed and gave his sensual smirk. Link blinked, blushed, and shook his head at his darker half.
"No, I want to create..." Link started, and was halted as he was tugged into the embrace of his darker half.
"Memories?" Dark Link hissed, and Link smiled at him.
"Exactly, so let me go, so we can create a couple’s mask." Link stated, and then slipped out of his partner’s confused hold.
"A what its mask?" Dark Link parroted, "Do what?" He added.
"During this time, couples make masks to exchange with their partner." Link stated. "If, their blessed, and lucky, the masks might even join!" Link added.
"I can think of a better way to make memories.." Dark Link alluded too while trying to recapture Link in his embrace.
"Please?" Link plead, his blue eyes widening with emotion.
"Ah, Damn." Dark Link muttered before nodding.
"Okay, well you go over here and work on yours," Link chirped while handing over a few supplies, "and no peeking." He warned before going somewhere else in the house.
"I don’t know how to make a bloody mask." Dark Link muttered while glaring at the material. Good thing it was a blank white mask, which only needed decoration. "Silly light." He chuckled before dipping a paint brush into one of the colors.
A few hours later Dark Link was done, and went to go present his dry mask to his light. This became a frustrating task, as his light was no where to be found. Before he could let out a growl of displeasure, he was tackled from behind. There was a kiss on his cheek, and then a vanishing green body. Dark Link chuckled and chased after Link, one hand still gripping his mask.
Dark Link caught up with Link who was waiting bashfully before their bed. He grinned predatorily and stalked toward his light, before he could make his light squeal, Link shook his head. Link instead offered up a wrapped package. Dark Link smiled as he unwrapped the mask, and was amazed at the artistic ability of his light. Slowly he offered his and was rewarded with a large smile.
However, a flash of light was seen and the two masks joined. Link smiled, and another flash of light echoed the first, and now there were two of the same mask. They floated to the pair, and Link cuddled his to his chest. Happily Link pulled out a pair of tickets to the Termina festival, without a word, Link donned his mask and dragged Dark Link out the door.
They spent the rest of the night creating memories that would last a lifetime. The thing that Dark Link liked the most was there were no other’s in these memories of just him and his love. Link didn’t care, as he cuddled into his dark’s side, he could love creating more memories with the one beside him. This was one memory he wanted to have a special mark by it. "I love you." Link murmured into Dark Link’s side.
Dark Link smiled, and rubbed a tan hand through Link’s blond hair. "I love you too." He whispered, and then picked at the mask resting on his face. Maybe this tradition wasn’t so silly after all.
