Status: False.

Origins: Many political rumors are mundane fabrications to begin with, and they don't become any more interesting when they're recycled to make yet another political figure the target du jour. In that vein, this item is just an updating of a rumor circulated in June 1999 about then-Vice President Al Gore:

"In an important speech given this week, Al Gore attempted to portray how important his faith is in his life. He of course was trying to apply what he's learned from his mentor Clinton. Here's what happened.

hi, don't know you, i'm bored and in this case my boredom led me to your journal. well, i was once christian, and as far as i can remember there was this whole thing about how swearing was bad. i don't know if you drink, though your friends seem to. in case you do, there was also this whole thing about how drinking was against christian values as well. so. if you are so down with the lord you should act like it. people like you are the reason christians are looked down upon and seen as ignorant bigot assholes. if you want your religion to get some respect then represent it in such a way that it will be given respect.
