I kind of like the words of Max Ehrmann, they were written in the 20's but repopularized in the late 60's and early 70's...

Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Sometimes, in our striving for self betterment or as Nietschean self-made men striving towards our own standards set for ourselves, we can be too harsh on ourselves, and it's good to realise that, as Pat Benetar sang, "We Belong".

Ego te saluto, commillita in nixor vitae et mortis.

'Desiderata', which that is the last paragraph of, is my favorite poem.

This is Dad's favorite poem. And most definitely words to live by.

A close second, for his best poem is "The Female of the Species." Which, as this, would seem to describe you nicely. Oh, and speaking of describing you - in case you didn't read your e-mails this week - I'll send you the lastest two Merry Gentry books as soon as I've finished reading them.
