“Would it be foolish to ask why you are sitting in my shower, in the middle of the night, dressed in a suit?”
Leo looked up at him with much of the composure of a bag of half-drowned kittens. Water dropped from the tip of his nose down onto the bouquet of flowers in his lap. “Well, the answer might surprise you.”
With a sigh, Will sat down on the rim of the bath tub, awkwardly reaching out for his new room mate’s shoulder but not quite touching. “Your girl broke up with you?”
“Whatever gave you that idea? - No, I just needed a shower.” Leo’s eyes were red and puffy but the first traces of his trademark impish smile began to show as he couldn’t resist the opportunity for yet another stupid comment. Will grinned gratefully. Stupid he could do.
“Obviously. Good on you for saving water by keeping on the suit.”
And there was that smile. “You know me, ever the environmentalist.”
“Oh absolutely.” He patted Leo’s shoulder half-heartedly. “Want a beer with your hypothermia? Or ice cream?”
Leo gave him a pondering look from beneath dripping bangs and then shrugged. “And a towel, if you don’t mind?”
“Oh, yeah, you should probably get out of those clothes.” Will hurried to grab a towel from the cabinet under the sink and threw it at Leo who was grinning disturbingly wide.
“Thought you’d never ask.”
“Yuck. - Take care of that--” Will gesticulated vaguely in Leo’s direction. “And I’ll get the beer.”
Halfway through shrugging out of his clingy suit jacket, Leo gave him an oddly sincere look. “Thanks, Will. You’re a good guy.”
“Yeah. Just… Promise me I’ll never have to see you naked.”
“Sure.” Nodding gravely, Leo raised three fingers. “Clothed showers all the way. Scout’s honor.”
