The Healing Wars

Well, I said I was going to do a review of the whole series at once, so here goes.

Nya was a very realistic character.  I think I liked her from the first page, explaining how hard she learned it was to steal eggs.  I could appreciate her care for Tali, because I am an older sister, too, and am protective of my little sister (hi Books!! :)
Danello was the kind of really sweet guy that makes reading so wonderful.   And Aylin was there to keep everyone from being too bogged down in their troubles.

If I had any complaints about the books, it would be that they didn't give you much time to breathe.  A couple more scenes like the one with Danello in the beginning of Darkfall would have been great, and wouldn't really have added to the page count.

I never thought that Nya really abandoned Tali.  She had to have Danello and Aylin at her back.  She didn't know Jeatar well enough to work with him on something that big.  The problem was that Vyand made her believe that Tali was in the foundry with the other Takers, and they worked so hard to get in there, and then Tali was not there.  (The fact that they needed pynivium (sp?) to survive didn't help.)

I like how the books handled the war by showing the pain of it to.  (Though Quenji (sp?) did NOT have to be eaten by a crocodile.  That was cruel.  - In my mind, he managed to grab on to the bridge support or something, and it was only the bandit that got eaten.  He and Aylin found each other after the war was over and had a sweet renuion.  - That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!)

I like how Danello decided to fight becuase it was the right decision to try to stop the Duke early, instead of just fighting to spend time with this cute girl he had met.  While it was obvious as a reader the minute Danello showed up that he and Nya would wind up together, all decisions were not based off that knowledge.

Umm, I think I had other observations, but I can't remember them right now ...

All in all, this has become one of my new favorite series.  5 out of 5 stars!! :)

Thanks to Leng for the rec!!
