"Mew?"

"Mrow!"

"Meow! Meow!"

"Mrow!"

Catwoman pushes herself back up through the hole in the skylight and looks out over the city. Her cats' tails are stiff, their whole, furry bodies at full alert. She reaches down and strokes the arched back of one of the nearest. Her other hand still holds to her bag of loot. "What is it?" she asks softly.

The black cat's tail swishes. A tabby nods at the air. Catwoman's green eyes raise to the golden symbol illuminating the night sky. She cocks her head, listening, as she smiles. The whole city of Gotham -- or at least, the good citizens of it -- rest all their hope in that symbol of a giant bat.

But it means he's back. Gordon had given up the Batsignal. Their can only be one reason for its return: There's trouble again, and he knows their hero has returned to help and save their pathetic lives. Catwoman smirks. But he is back, and that's good news.

She hears sirens wailing in the distance, but they're headed away from the museum, not towards them. She knows she hasn't tripped an alarm. She's been extra careful tonight, even though the cops can't touch her. It must have been her female intuition warning her that there is again more to play with in this city than meager officers of the law.

Still, he's not coming her way tonight. He'll be wrapped up for hours with whatever crime spree is hitting on the other side of the city, down toward the docks. She licks her lips and purrs, remembering their last encounter, how she kissed him senseless and left him in his own Batcuffs. He owes her, but that won't happen tonight. It will happen soon -- the light promises her that --, but not tonight.

Her emerald gaze casts back toward the shadows of the museum below them. "Time for Mama to grab one last thing, babies," she purrs and leaps agilely back down her zip line. She'd only grabbed one diamond when Onyx started the alarm, but there's another to be had. Diamonds are a girl's best friend, after all and after her cats, of course, and everybody knows everything comes better in pairs. She's still purring when she grabs the other diamond and makes her getaway safely into the night.

The End
