Good God, I am exhausted. We did the teasers for the Crucible all day today. Then had an entire run through. What a long day. Damn. But I found it somewhat enjoyable seeing as I love the cast. Everyone on my list should come see the Crucible. I think it will go over well. I also found out that I'm going to see Night Ranger live this summer. Yes, ( Read more... )

Shit, son!

I have seen both Elvin Bishop and Rick Derringer in concert. Derringer did a Poverello benifit at the Wilma a couple years ago. He's kind of fat, and extremely Christian, but he can still shred like a motherfucker. FRONT ROW CENTER W/ AUTOGRAPH, MOTHERFUCKER!!!

Elvin Bishop opened for B.B. King when he came here last summer (Along with Dr. John, Jay Geils, and some other people), he jumped down in the aisle and started playing some wicked slide guitar. ONCE AGAIN, FRONT ROW, MOTHERFUCKER!!!

Honestly, though... I didn't know War and CCR were still together. That's pretty damn cool. DUDE! Cream should do a reunion tour. That would OWN!

By the way, I found a picture of the most hardcore guitar chord in human history (As performed by Al Di Meola & Joe Satriani):

That is quite the chord. Satrioni rocks hard. But guitar "virtuosos" kind of bug me. I respect their skills. Oh good god do I respect their skills. But like I just find it kind of tedious listening to Steve Vai. Someone like Manuel Buerreco who is most likely equally as skilled is much more pleasurable to listen to.

Yeah dude, I saw that B.B. King show. I loved Elvin Bishop at that. That was just an awesome concert. Also, I found out Widespread Panic is playing at that brewery in June. I'm there, and perhaps I'll be 'front row'. And Derringer, missed out on that, but I'm really stoked to hear the fat ass Christian gun toter this summer.

No question Cream needs to do a reunion, I'm not sure if all of the guys are still around, but I know the key players are. Long live Cream. They kick ass!

I agree. I can listen to Vai or Malmsteen... but usually not for more than 10 minuntes at a time. Satriani has more melodic quality, and yes, you are right abour Barrueco... there was this one song he did with Steve Morse (Deep Purple/Kansas) that was an improv. on Heitor Villa-Lobos' Etude No. 1, and it was a classical peice that ripped enough as is, but then Steve Morse puts this distorted electric melody over top of it... it's so bad ass.

By the way, you're a big Ween fan, right Ross? If I were to get a Ween CD, what would you recommend?

God who doesn't love classical shredding?!!

Yes, I'm a big Ween fan indeed. I think a good starter album would be White Pepper. Then if you like that, I'd check out Chocolate and Cheese. You can't go wrong with the Mollusk either. All so good.
