A-FUCKING-MEN, ROSS. Do you read my mind? I love Joy Division with a large percentage of my heart, but listening to Closer gives me the spontaeous urge to slit my wrists.

And natural_science, Joy Division is Nazi jargon - the "Joy Division" were young deported women who were forced to prostitute themselves to on-leave Gestapo (this caused a lot of OMGOMGWHITEPOWWWER! bullshit speculation around Joy Division, especially after Ian died and they changed their name to "New Order"). It's also the name of a German S&M novel about concentration camps. So really, Joy has nothing to do with it.

Wow, so that's what it feels like when doves cry. I too love Joy Division. I find Closer fascinating. Basically it's a long suicide note by Ian, hanging himself not much long after Closer. Total vivid description of one tortured dude. God it's so weird and good! Kudos to you for listening to Joy Division.
