i saw the most beautiful thing today.
i was walking home and the sunlight was on a slant, dwindling away. a little girl, who was maybe two, and her grandmother were standing, fixated, on their lawn. i stopped and watched them for a moment. i realized the little girl was repeating, "hi! hi!" excitedly over and over. i wondered who she was talking to
