Seattle actually has a pretty big improv/comedy scene, with a lot of people devoting time and efforts to it. If you're asking for advice, which I don't think you are but i'm gonna offer it anyway, what I think you need to do to get into this kind of business is the same thing I had to do to get into mine- Network. Moving is definitely a good idea, and if you do decide to move to Seattle I know a lot of people in the comedy scene who I could hook you up with. It's really all about who you know, and that can be hard if you don't know anyone to begin with. You just have to make friends with every promoter, actor, comedian, radio talent, TV guy you meet, and stay connected. I know in the record industry, networking is something everyone does, and they're always very excited to meet a new person, and eager to keep in touch. I don't know if it will be harder for you in the comedy scene to meet people eager to talk to you again, but it's worth a shot.. Again, if you move to Seattle, I'll get you connected with the right people to get into ( ... )

Yeah, networking is big which is the main reason I feel like I need to get out. Although I'm within a comfortable distance from Chicago, I can't really network because it's just uneconomical.

I'm glad you were willing to give me advice as, well it just nice to hear my own ideals repeated to me. It's reassuring.

I never claimed you were uncultured, in fact I mentioned Seattle and San Fran because of their actual scenes, just that they aren't as big or influential as Chicago or New York. But I'm sure you understood that.

Now, go look at my adorable baby photos. This topic is dead and buried.
