Ahem.
The actually spelling might vary, depending on the instance in which the throat is cleared; there was one for a laugh, one for anger, disappointment... probably even one for shock.
Usually, the sound was simply intended to announce that someone else was in the room. More often than not, it was the person the other had just been talking about.
In this case, it was more to announce their presence in general.
Ahamo was actually slightly entertained.
Cain was in a state of denial.
DG wanted to be invisible.
Jeb had a ticket all the way to the dungeon.
