This story I wrote in the third grade, at 8 years old. Typed exactly as written too. On my Autobiography page, I wrote "I like to read about elves and fairies and leprechauns." Truly, some things never do change.:D I had read The Hobbit the year before and was probably getting started on The Lord of the Rings around the time I wrote this.
The Leprechaun
Once there was a leprechaun. His name was Charlie. Charlie was very nice to people who were nice to him.
Charlie was an undercover leprechaun. He didn't want people to see him but some-times people saw him.
Charlie was 29 years old. His wife, Karen, was 28 years old. He had 7 children. The 1st one's name was John and he was 10. The 2nd was Mary and she was 8. The 3rd was Linda. She was also 8. The 6th was Matt. He was 6. The 5th was Bryan. He was 5. The 4th was Tammy. She was 3. And the 7th was Kelly and she was only 1. They were a very, very happy family.
One day Charlie walked right into a cat's leg! It thought he was a mouse! Charlie knew that the cat thought he was a mouse and said, "I am not a mouse, I am a leprechaun. Would you like a wish?" "Yes I would very much! I wish I had a pot of gold." Right before the cat was a pot of gold! The cat took the gold to his family. "I was lucky that time," said Charlie.
He turned around and bumped into something! It was a person! Charlie said, "What do you want?" The person said, "My name is Fred, and I want a big pot of gold." He suddenly saw a big pot of gold where Charlie was standing. He took the pot of gold and ran.
Charlie went home to his family. He walked over to his table and started making a pair of shoes for each of his 7 kids John, Mary Linda, Matt, Bryan, Tammy, and Kelly. He fixed dinner and watched Magnum P.I. After that they went to bed and lived happily ever after.
