I don't get to see my best friend very often. We live on opposite sides of the country and I have 3 kids, she has a tight work schedule and neither of us has the means to just jump on a plane whenever we want. blah blah blah--there are always reasons. **Sometimes being an adult sucks**

I quite agree.

My best friend lives up north now, and the ONE DAY that she was gonna be in-state, all manner of hell broke loose. Things kept changing to "maybe yes", then "probably no", and it ended up not happening.

Having/finding/keeping friends gets difficult once you're married and a parent. {{{HUGS}}}

That's so rough. There have been a couple times when she ahs been on this side of the country more or less but we haven't been able to hook up also.

But yeah, we have actually known each other forever literally--we went to Sunday School together when we were little kids--but actually came around to being best friends 15 years ago. (Um, we actually have an anniversary. lol. It really is a unique relationship and a great story that she would love for me to write someday...)
Our relationship has waxed and waned over the years and there was a point when I first got married and she moved across the country that distance was what we needed. It took us a while to come back to the closeness that we have now, but now we talk every single day and her friendship is just as important in my life as my marriage and it is so hard for me to not be able to just go to her when she is hurting.

That's tough. I know that long-distance friendships are so difficult when you add signifigant others, children, and other "grown up" responsibilities to the picture. *hugs*
