The broad strokes of it are a pretty classic murder/conspiracy story, but they do so many unique and delightful things with it.
For example:
watching Simon Pegg and Nick Frost try to act like action heroes made me feel a hundred times better.
Yes, I can imagine! Simon Pegg in that role is genius. I love how well he commmunicates who his character is. He does that thing that great comic actors do -- he just is the guy and the funny comes from that.
Plus, certain lines just sound hilarious when spoken with a British accent. You know it's true.
I do know that. :)

I love Simon Pegg's ability to be funny without being overtly silly. He's the straight man in this, yet he's still the most hilarious part of the movie. I saw Run, Fatboy, Run a couple of years ago, which was the first thing I ever saw him in, and he was just too cute!
