GeoCities is closed. I guess I didn't lose much - my website was seriously outdated. I was busy being the change that I wanted to see, instead of making preachy-sounding webpages about it. I feel the same way as you... I had a geocities site and contemplated rescuing it, then thought "meh, why?".
I think it's a shame that geocities had to go, but then, people have grown out of it. Social networking seems to be the in thing, and people don't have personal pages anymore. Are we the old ladies of the internet now?

LOL... (puts on her best old lady voice)... "Back in my day there was none of this facespacetwitter stuff". Seriously, I hate social networking. Tried it once, and people I never wanted to see again started turning up. That's when I hit the "delete account" link and never looked back.

Things are good. Tough, but good. We got hit bad by the "recession" (more like depression), and we're crawling back! How have you been holding up? . xxxxx
