[Background] Unlike everyone in Organization XIII, Roxas was the only one that didn't have any memories of his past life. This was because of the short time that Sora, his "somebody", spent as a Heartless. The first week for him was pretty much getting used to what was going on as, what the Organization does, and what he was to do. He was mostly trusted to Axel when he went on missions. They grew to be best friends in no time as well. However, Axel eventually had to go to Oblivion Castle and was left with Xion. Soon after that though, Roxas fell into a strange coma and didn't wake up for quite awhile. It was after he woke up that he started to befriend Xion as well. It also turned out that Xion could wield the Keyblade as well.
Roxas tried to spend a lot of time with his friends, but due to Sora's restoration process, he was reacting to Soras memories, and soon began to question why he had the Keyblade, and what the Organization was really after. Of course, this left him with more questions then answers. Later on Xion left the Organization in order to get the answers to her own questions. Roxas soon follows her example and leaves the Organization as well but not before Axel attempted to talk him out of it. Axel told him that if he left then the Organization would destroy him, but Roxas remained indifferent.
After doing so, he encounterd Xion in Twilight Town, we find that she was a incomplete clone of Sora and not really a Nobody. She had been reprogrammed by Xemnas to attack and absorb him so that she would become the "real" Sora. This lead to Roxas being forced to fight her as well as defeating her. When done, he wasn't able to remember who she was, though she said it's okay. She informs Roxas the true colors of the Organization, tells him that she is glad they were friends and pleads with him not to let Xemnas accomplish his deranged goals before dying peacefully in his arms, in which he remembered her. Saddened, Roxas held Xion's essence and degenerating crystallized body until she was completely gone, leaving behind a seashell on the ground, as he spilts tears.
The death of Xion only strengthened his determination to find Sora and the answers he sought. He decided to first go to The World That Never Was first to set Kingdom Hearts free and to kill Xemnas. Upon arriving at the Memory Skyscraper though, he is surrounded by Heartless. Riku appears and helps Roxas using the Oblivion key he tossed him before quickly turning on each other. Roxas defeats him saying that no matter how many times they fight he will win, however Riku then decided to give into his inner darkness looking like Xehanort's Heartless and then continues to fight Roxas until he is overwhelmed by the darkness and Guardian shows to help him rendering Roxas unconscious. Diz shows up and they take him to Twilight Town, inside the Haunted Mansion where they erased his memories and put him into a vitural Twilight Town. There, Roxas would be kept safely away from the Organization while he lived as a normal boy, unaware of his past. Even though Roxas began to forget about Xion, she tells him that she'll always remember him and Axel. It showed that when Roxas began to forget, cutscenes including him, Axel, and Xion were changed to where it was just those two without Xion since she was erased.
For awhile, he lives a normal life in the virtual town, becoming best friends with Hayner, Pence, and Olette. As Namine begins to complete the task of restoring Soras memories, Roxas begins seeing brief fleeting memories through a number of his dreams. Not too mention the town is starting to get weird. Nobodies soon invade the town as they were sent by the Organization to retrieve Roxas. He later encouters Axel on orders that he is to take him back with DiZ appearing in the middle of the fight stopping it and make it look like some kind of daydream he had. The days just seem to get weirder as he meets Namine who apparently knows him when he doesn't know her. Axel comes back saying that he would have to kill him if he refused to go with Axel, this caused another fight only it was stopped as DiZ yet agin interfered and told Roxas to go to the mansion.
Arriving there, Roxas finds Namine again and slowly begins to remember his time in the Organization. He gets confused as it looks as if he doesn't know himself anymore asks her what will happen to him now. Just before she can answer she is erased from the virual world and interrupted by DiZ again. He tells him that he doesn't have a right to know since he is a nobody and Namine pops back out with finaly words before vanishing again. Roxas then goes to the basement to find a computer and another memory of when they were erasing his memories, in anger he demoloshies the computer and enters a room with Axel awaiting him. He talks to him and it is revealed that Roxas remembers him but it is too late as Axel begins to fight him again. The battle ends with Axel saying that they'll meet again in the next life before vanishing.
He continues to explore the basement and is met with a hallway in which Donald and Goofy are in pods, both in a deep sleep. Moving on he enters a big white room with a huge pod in the middle along with DiZ, again. They talk about what DiZ is after and in the end gets Roxas mad enough to attack him but it turns out it was a data projection. The pod opens and Roxas rejoins with Sora.
It is revealed throughout the game that although he rejoin with Sora, he still had slight influences. Such as when Sora first looked around town feeling he had been here before, as well as when he was leaving he felt really sad for some reason. It is not until near end game though that Roxas makes a reappearance when Sora enters The World That Never Was. Sora makes it to the Memory Skyscraper and encouters Roxas and is forced to fight as Roxas starts attacking him. They talk while they fight about who this guy was and why he had two Keyblades. It looked like Roxas was going to win but Sora mangaged to turn it around defeating Roxas.
Roxas has a few flashbacks to when he was first born, his fight with Riku, and strangely enough, something that wasn't a flashback. He ended meeting Axel one last time as they discussed what would happen now before they vanished into light. This brought Roxas back to reality as his hood fell off and his last words to Sora are "You make a good other" before all returns to white and Sora is back in The World That Never Was.
[Personality] He, unlike other Nobodies, seems to possess real emotions, stemming from the fact that he is a special Nobody. Many ranges of feelings come from him depending on his situation. For example, he is prone to anger more easily then his other Sora, as well as temperamental, aggressive, and always standing his ground. Those characteristics show themselves well in his fighting style.
Roxas is presented as the type to not just let things happen, to twiddle his thumbs and wait. He constantly rebels against what he's told is his "place" and is a strongly independent individual. On the other hand, Roxas tends to be ironically melancholy and stoic, solemn and distracted, especially as he comes to realize the truth about himself, and in other points when he's confused and lost.
While he is also not as impulsive, like Sora, they both have little patience for people who seem to be bending their will or trying to confuse them. He doesn't have a extreme lust for life as well, but he does wish and desire one of his own. And despite their differences, the traits he and Sora share are shown in how they deeply care for their friends, along with some instances where Roxas is happy, cheerful, kind, at ease, and carefree in good company - even shown laughing.
Roxas also seems to be noted as the smarter half of Sora, as he is not as easily fooled by his enemies and is more likely to think his actions through unless angered.
[Specialties/Abilities] Being the Nobody of Sora, he is capable of wielding the Keyblade and thanks to Xion he is able to dual-wield them. He uses an ebony black Keyblade in right hand and a pure white one in the left. He is also able to create portals of darkness in order to go from place to place. In Somarium however, he can't use one to escape, and is only able to go to places that he has been before. He wields the element of Light, and uses it to direct rays that strike opponents with great power as well as provides a barrier
[Affection] He will be okay with pats on the shoulder and such. He will be confused if you hug him and especially if you flirt or kiss him...He doesn't really do that kind of affection
[Fighting] Roxas can put up a REALLY good fight. He is extremely offensive in his fighting style which fits because he will use two blades if he if going all out. He will not die easily and if he is in danger of doing so he will retreat so good luck.
[Other Facts] He loves Sea salt ice cream. His BFF is Axel.
Nobodies are beings without hearts. They are leftovers "born" in the in-between realm, and exist as the body and soul of people who lost their hearts to darkness. As they lack hearts to possess light or darkness, they are "nothing" that still somehow exist within the Kingdom Hearts universe. The members of Organization XIII, being the most powerful Nobodies because of the strong hearts they had when they were "whole", kept human form while weaker ones assumed malformed, inhuman forms. Most members of the Organization control one type of Nobody, suited to their fighting style.
