Then again, Britain's a good example: we have 'civil partnerships'. Same benefits as marriage, but the fact that it's not actually a 'marriage' speaks volumes.
The best thing is that some gay rights campaigners complain that civil partnerships are heterophobic. Awesome. <3

People at school were complaining about how it could become not-illegal everywhere in the country and how that's a bad thing, and they were my friends, and I just felt really disgusted and like I couldn't even talk to my friends. But, yes, I completely agree. WHY THIS IS EVEN AN ISSUE... confuses me. There are just so many things that actually affect people--all people that we're doing shit about. It drives me crazy. :|
