so, i gathered together my friends jon and joe last night to see the wrath of khan at the south alamo. the idea was that they were showing it along with ten minutes of exclusive new footage from the new star trek movie. we barely made it into the screening (one couple got in behind us, that's it), even though we were almost an hour early

as usual, i wish you had been there. we did get to go to a pretty special film screening way back when, though.

I'm not that much of a Trek fan, but this movie looks interesting enough that I'll see it (and I didn't even bother seeing Watchmen).

And why am I not surprised that something like this took place at the Drafthouse?

even really good things can be overrated, and that's how i often feel about the drafthouse. but it's true, between them and harry knowles we get events here that we wouldn't get otherwise. and i also suspect that there's a higher proportion of nerds here than in most places.
