"So how was that?"
Kimiko looked thoughtful, propped up against the garden fountain with fingertips just barely dipping into the clear water. And Raimundo watched her patiently, smiling smugly, arms folded behind his head. "Meh, I've had better..."
Raimundo's face fell. "Better? You're kidding!"
She giggled, pursing her lips to kiss the air between them, "What, you've never been rejected before?"
He shook his head frustratingly, to which she giggled again. Taking a moment to regain his slightly chipped dignity - with fingers suddenly deep within the soft texture of his hair and brushing it all back - his face soon shifted back into his previous smug smile. Leaning forward, one eyebrow arched, he remarked in a flirting tone, "Maybe you'd like one more taste before you make up your mind."
Pushing his face back with the palm of her hand, she replied without a single hint of uncertainty: "No thanks, Rai."
He folded his arms over his chest in mock anger, taking a step away from her in a move to start walking. She was quick to begin tailing him, laughing to herself as she linked arms with him. Because she knew he didn't want her that bad. He never wanted anyone that bad.
"So, you don't want to date me because I'm not the best kiss you ever had?" He smirked, "Gee, Kim. That's shallow."
"Oh come off it, Rai!" She snapped, her temper tipping and yet she knew full well he was simply joking around, "I'm just not into you like that..." He gave her a 'hurt-puppy' look, to which she punched him weakly in the side, "Besides, I rather like just being your friend."
"Fine, okay," Raimundo sighed, finally admitting defeat, "Friends first..."
She nodded cheerily, while his eyes shifted to the side in order to stare at a nearby tree, finding it appropriate to add, and hoping she wouldn't actually notice:
"...Lovers second."
Kimiko, frustrated, punched him again.
