My previous two entries to kick off my brand-new Livejournal were a little blunt (cough), so I guess I'll make a more thorough entry now of the past fiscal year.
Sooo, this past year has been... odd. Well, not odd--I suppose "mildly different".
As with every year, it started off with band things. I thought that our band sounded very good this year but we didn't get any sort of special recognition from anyone else that differentiated from previous years--except for the pit band. Compared to last year's shitty ensemble (hell, the whole PLAY last year blew goatse) we improved majorly. I'm not sure whether it's the fact that the pit music for Grease is just plain-out easier to play or that we had the right formula and balance of instruments, but it worked. Lucas only managed to get an opportunity to yell at us once this year, and that was over something pretty stupid and lame. You just can't seem to win with that man, though.
So, hmm... football season was pretty much a blur, school-wise. Hell, this whole year was a blur, except for the winter time. I don't know why--maybe it's because of the lack of daylight and whatnot--but the winter months just seem to drag like hell. Especially March. God, March sucked.
Speaking of school, this year was definitely a test for me academically. This was by far the most difficult year of math I've ever taken: Algebra II with TEH BRAIN TRAIN (sorry, most of you probably wouldn't understand... ^^;). Mrs. Brain is so fucking insane and difficult that you need to be able to keep up with her fast pace to pass. I'm sure she's a fabulous teacher if you're going to be a chemical engineer or astronaut or nuclear physicist or President or Pope or moderator of Fanfiction.net--but when you're talking about the goddamn coal-chucking ridge towns of eastern Pennsylvania, I think not. Besides her, though, the rest of my classes were quite easy. Lucas (Academic English 11) is a bastard but he never checks homework so you can get away with sleeping in class all the time, Chernago (Human Physiology) is nice and outrageously easy (I swear, I don't think I passed a single test in that class, yet I managed to get a C average), and O'Neill (Painting) is crazy as all hell but very nice and gave me a lot of good materials/pointers to help improve my skills.
Besides school = FFXI. That game has sucked so much time out of me these past two years, and I don't regret a single second of it. It introduced me to an awesome community with people that I will probably be friends with in reality one day. Alas, I am quitting it shortly (IRL things, declining interest, etc.), but I'm sure the majority of the people I've met on there will stay in-touch with me. Hell, I couldn't even begin to fathom not being able to.
Hmm... well... to be honest with you, that's all I can think up with. Obviously nothing catastrophic happened this year. Yay.
The end.
