I ran my first official Road Race on the First day of the month and the first day of this year. It was awesome! I arrived early and registered, parking was already filling up so I decided to wait there the two hours until my race started. I watched as people began to pile in, the different runners of all types and abilities and degrees. The

y'know, i have yet to run any races. my aunt & uncle do races all the time and for a while they were trying to get me into them, but it never appealed to me for one reason or another.
recently though... hmm.. the whole idea of running for a cause has been on my heart - so maybe soon i will give it a go.
did you hear about the guy who plans on running across the states in a year to benefit a children's charity? i heard about a smidgen bit about it on my morning drive in to work today. they said he's been training since 2004 for it - now that's dedication! the journey should be an interesting one, no doubt and hopefully he'll get some people to run alongside with him along the way (like Forest Gump)(cause that'd be cool)(:P)

That is so awesome about dude running Cross Country literally like that! And yes it would be cool to have a group of people run with you like in Forest Gump!

I just wanted you to know that I've been reading your blog for the last few days and I think you're doing a great job. I didn't post because I couldn't find my password, but I found it this morning.
Anyway, what a great report! And congratulations on finishing so well in the race, that is wonderful.
You're right. It doesn't matter how you did compared to high school, it matters that you are doing it and setting new goals for yourself.
Run on sista! You should be very proud!
See you around the boards,

Thank you for your kind words! I know what you mean about passwords, I keep forgitting passwords to sights and what not, it gets annoying.
I used to struggle with not being as fast as I used to be. For some reason, my mind decided that despite an injury that left me out of serous running for four years (two years ago I was cleard of that) and that meaning no training for me, I wanted to get right out and do it where I was again. I had forgotten the years of hard work it took to get to where I was, and I am putting that hard work in again, and it feels great!
One small correction I feel I must make though, Run on brotha! would be much more gender appropriate for me :)
Thanks again for your comments!

lol...I'm so sorry! I totally thought you were a girl...I have no idea why though. :S
If you use a PC, there's a great little program that you can put on your computer or a USB drive and have your passwords with you all the time (just make a backup of it, so if you lose it, you still have your passwords). Than all you need is one password to open the safe and viola! You have access to all of your passwords, usernames, and other info. It's called Password Safe and it's free. If you have a Mac, there's another program called Password Gorilla.
See you around the boards. :)

No worries, on the thinking I was a girl thing. Saddly it happens alot if I don't straight up say I am a girl on these things, people think I am 0_o.
I will have to look into that program! I don't have a PC right now so I just use work Computers and Friends computers, but someday, one day, maybe I will get a computer!
