I know that every couple has their problems and issues.. but ours never end. We'll be okay after having talked about some things, but only for a short while. I think I've been pretty good in not trying to control.. but who knows

It is starting to sound like she's your daughter rather than your grilfriend. I think you know what should be done, espcially since you've done everything else and it doesn't work in the long run. No one can be happy on lots of short term smiles, you know that, babe. I think that you are scared to possibly let go because in your mind it means you are alone again.
