I don't know too many of Beethoven's Sonatas but instantly I recognize the Moonlight. It tugs at my heart's strings faster than many many things in this world. It makes me cry. I don't like to cry. Well, not when it's tears of sadness...

i think the sadness of the moonlight sonata is universal. that it can play with your emotions so effortlessly is it's beauty (to me anyway)
