Baby watched the grave plot intently, staring with a cold, calculated gaze. Either someone would arise from it or he was going to start killing things, slowly and painfully ( Read more... )

Baby watched silently as something began to move in the box. He didn't say a word, shoving back his emotion into the furthest corner of his mind. Dana. He was getting Dana back or torturing the fuck out of whatever demon tried to use her body and fool him.

"Drink that." Baby didn't move, didn't let his eyes stray from her, but there was a bottle of water on the ground next to the grave. Holy water, of course, but if this really was Dana it would serve the purpose of wetting her throat anyway.

She was alive, she was breathing - but Baby didn't let himself relax; rush to her like he wanted to, in the distant, emotional corner of his mind that he didn't venture into anymore.

Dana couldn't describe the emotions, or questions, swimming through her right now. She was utterly confused. And most of all scared. Scared of that new hard look to Baby's features he'd never had before, the lines there or the set to his eyes.

Oh God. What had he done?

At his order, she tuned her eyes to the bottle of water and she knelt down, scooping it up. God she was so thirsty. She guessed being dead could do that to you. Uncapping it, she tipped it to her lips gratefully, sucking the whole thing dry before stopping for a pant of breath.

Baby's eyes never moved, and he blinked only twice while Dana downed the bottle. Not demon, then. That was his primary concern.

Baby finally moved forward, slowly moving to stand before her. She looked like a distant memory, confused and emotional and Dana - but he wasn't through quite yet.

Baby crouched down slowly, face completely smooth as he stared at her. "I'm going to say this once. You'd better be Dana Winchester."

"Or I'm going to find you a new body," Baby paused, dangerous smirk turning the edges of his lips. "and skin you alive."

"To the pain." A Princess Bride reference; so long ago, it felt like. Baby laced his fingers together thoughtfully, still staring into Dana's eyes. "And there will be pain."
