Title: Recovery Author: Hambel Rating: Green Cortina Word Count: 444 Pairing/Characters: Sam, Gene Summary: A deleted scene in 2.08. Yes, it is, really. Disclaimer: They're not mine and no money has exchanged hands.
I agree, a perfect deleted scene and exactly the ending to 2.08 I would've loved to see. Love the restrained emotions in this, and the sexual charge of Sam touching Gene's injury - damn you for teasing me with a blowjob this early in the morning, but it totally worked. *g*
Very very nice! Given the amount of Gene taking Sam to the hospital fic I've read, it actually is refreshing to have their positions reversed. Lovely line about covering Gene's arse! And what a fine fine ending you've got.
"You'd have a job finding anything that big," Sam pointed out. Haha! Oh, Sam. Love his snappy snarky comebacks.
And the final lines! Spot-on characterization. They really needed this talk. Sam makes peace with Chris and Ray in the ep but he never gets chance to explain his betrayal to Gene and resolve their friendship. I always hoped something like this had happened and now you've given it to us, so thank you. :) I like how Sam putting his hands on the bandage and willing it to heal is kind of his unspoken apology.
