So does this mean it's over? I think it does. XKCD is a fairly good interweb authority. Also, I think the death of The Game would be insane(ly awesome?)

I saw that this morning and felt an amazing sense of relief - thank you XKCD. You've freed me.

(I think all it takes is someone other than you telling you it's over. Because it was totally a cure for my mind virus.)

Interesting. I agree with you, except I think the someone has to have interweb authority, and xkcd certainly does.
