Are cakes expected to be brought?

It's an appreciation party for the Sergeant. For he's a jolly good fellow.

I've got tea cakes and biscuits, but anything anybody'd like to bring would be welcome.

I think you'd look very smart in a jacket and tie. And you can come as you like.
