Let us know if you contact the Admiral or, y'know, open the gates of hell or whatever...

Seriously, you think doing something like that's a good idea here?

Why wouldn't it be?

I'm sorry, have you noticed where we are?

Yes, but I don't see how one could open the gates of Hell: we're in space. Hell is down.

I'm certainly intrigued. [Even if this sounds ridiculous, what has she done in the past six months that doesn't?]

I suspect these ghosts are trying to tell us something, but they aren't very good at it, so it's up to us to discover their message.

Hiding on the other side of a door can't really tell us much. Are any rooms interconnected? I have a possible third method, much less complicated, if so.

I'm not sure. Well, wardens have got water closets, and some have sitting rooms. What did you have in mind?

Please, George, don't do that. Please don't hold a seance.

Oh, I couldn't hold it myself, doctor. I'm not sensitive.

Please don't ask anyone to do one. I'm seriously asking you, do not do this.

Why? Have you had an experience?

It sounds like a corking idea to me, Georgie!

Er...how does one communicate with spirits anyway? Is it just a standard "what ho" and then the spirit says "what ho" back or is there something more complicated involved?

It's a bit more complicated: you've got to have candles, and a round table, and everybody sitting around it has got to hold hands. Then the Spiritualist asks if there are any spirits there, and they either speak, or knock on tables, or fiddle with the lighting. Sometimes the Spiritualist vomits, but I don't think that will happen here, because only the very best mediums can manage that.

Sounds a bit messy...

Do we have a Spiritualist on board? Or, I say, it sounds like you've had a bit of experience with this sort of thing! You could try it if no Spiritualist steps up to the plate.

I'm not sensitive to spirits. I've never seen a real one myself. I thought I had, but it was just a man in a mask.

I can see ghosts. I mean, I haven't seen any of the ones here, but back home I saw ghosts sometimes.

Excellent! I knew there had to be someone here.

Perhaps we ought to visit the library and see if they have any books on seances.
