Title: Touch the flame
Author: Mimic
Characters/Pairings: Bruce/Jason, Tim
Rating: NC-17
Disclaimer: I don't play for keeps. DC owns them.
Notes: AU! It isn't quite fix-it, but I'm not breaking anything else. Jason survives getting blown up, Tim pays him a visit in his recovery. Batman needs a Robin, Bruce needs a Jay.

Tim and Jason interacting in a good way is one of those things that hits me hard, and I love it, and you did it SO well. The scene where he and Tim are playing sparring-tag across the Cave--I just about screamed, I loved it.
(naughty_pixie implied there might be a sequel? I am ALL FOR THAT)

It's wonderful you liked it so much! Your comment is making me grin with delight.
I love the tension in his relationship with Bruce and that he never let the awkwardness he felt around Tim strain THEIR relationship.
Yes, I didn't think he could handle that on top of the rest of it. He may be getting replaced as Robin, but he'll damn well make sure it doesn't interfere with him and Bruce.
Tim and Jay are just completely awesome, seriously, I kind of hate DC for not letting them be friends, because the potential is SO there.
(Haha. It's a possibility.)

Everything was really well paced~
XD And Dick's little phonecall about the new kid, and it feels like it's sort of up in the air if Tim and Dick met before Tim went to Paris but it sorta feels like they didn't. XD It's a fun thought, that Jason got to seen Tim before he perfected his Robin-ness and now Tim's got a mask of perfect he can face his (first) idol with.
o Tim, with your crush on anything vaguely Robin shaped...
Man, fandom makes me really want to track down more Jason canon stuff but I sorta get the feeling that's a toughy, and also that there's not nearly enough of the Post-Crisis stuff.
I really want to see Jason keep growing up. More comic charas need to be allowed to have the chance to do that.

That's the exact reason I saw myself, and yes, it *is* madness not wanting more porn, but this was definitely a Bruce/Jay story.
In my head no, Dick and Tim haven't met yet.

It makes so many things possible in the DCU. *hugs him*
Thank you very much for the comment! It's great to know you liked reading this.
As for Jason canon, unfortunately there isn't much stuff of him as Robin (his run only lasted 2 years, and that was in the 80's) and when he's featured as Red Hood the quality varies (as much current stuff does).
On the other hand, it does give me the excuse to write more AUs involving him.

Your Tim is perfect, and snarky sex addicted Jason, soo YESH :)
Just curious, though; were you avoiding writing Alfred dialog? His presence is clearly there, but I don't think he ever actually said anything... (Aside from introducing Tim.)
It didn't seem forced at all, though, which is a plus. It's reminiscent, to me, of The Angels you Need series, without all the death :)
I hope you continue it. As for a name for Jay...I can't wait to see what you come up with :P

As for Alf, it's true I'm not completely comforting writing his voice, but I also wanted him (and by extension the rest of the Batfamily, not nearly as much Tim in this as there would be if this wasn't Bruce/Jason, to be kept at a distance).
I'm glad it seemed to work despite that, though.
Angels did influence this in some of the not-dead!Jason aspects, Te's work is something of the lifeblood of my fannishness at times. She writes an excellent Jason.
I don't have any solid plans to continue this as of yet. (The timelines alone are a bitch.) But I'll keep in mind how many people seem to want sequels.
