The Balvenie 17-year Peated Cask

Ok, you've all heard me blathering on about The Balvenie being my favorite distillery.

The Balvenie 17-year Peated Cask

43% alc/vol
$136.50

Aged Balvenie finished in peated casks and married with fresh American whisky oak...

NOSE

Soft and velvety. Fresh with a light complexity. Some brininess underneath. Floral, leaning towards lavander.

1st IMPRESSION

Fresh, light and dry.

TASTE

Full and creamy without a hint of bite. Waxy. The lavender comes through.

FINISH

Wonderfully smooth. Vanilla dominates the swallow. Creamy. A quick bite at the tip of the tongue, with dry, peaty iodine at the fade.

THOUGHTS

A truly wonderful expression from The Balvenie. Worth trying, but the expense make it a one-time treat.
