6 to 8 *hours*???? Is this length of time necessary? I don't use a crock pot but would like to try this recipe in a regular pot? Have you ever tried that? Anyone? What length of time would someone suggest in a regular deep pot?

Thanks for sharing the recipe! It sounds delicious and I'm hopeful I can figure out a way to adapt it to my own cooking style (which is considerably unskilled!)!
