Not too long ago, I decided I wanted to do some of my True Blood-style reviews for The Walking Dead. Now that I have the DVDs, I figured I'd better get on that.
Under the cut, there are pics, spoilers, my opinions, random fangirling, etc. Click or not, the decision is up to you. I do want to warn dial-up users - this post is murder on bandwidth. I

I just have this rule: no violence against kids or animals. I can't handle it - it just upsets me in a major way. But, as you said, it was necessary here for them to prove that they are willing to go the distance with this show. Kids won't be spared just cause they're kids - they're prey, same as you or me. I applaud them for showing us right off the bat that they mean business. Did it hurt to see a child zombie? Yeah, for a minute. I made peace with it though :D

I was sickened by the little girl zombie but I am oh so glad they did it that way! It really showed the horror of what a zombie apocolypese or any other major disaster really, would truely be like. I love that about this show!THey show so many human emotions!

The little girl zombie bothered me a bit for a few minutes. Usually I can't deal with violence against kids or animals at all. American Psycho wrecked me. But, as you said, it was necessary for them to prove that they're willing to go the distance with this. It is what it is - kids won't be spared just because they're kids. They're prey, the same as you and me.

Morgan and Duane were squatting in the house where they took Rick but Morgan told him that she died in the bed in the other room. I guess she got bitten en route or maybe while they were there, getting supplies or something.
Oh yeah, the bit where he tracked bicycle girl down to put her out of her misery was where I fell in love too. That was unbelievably sweet.
I don't trust Shane either - he's losing his grip big time!! That last episode, he was barely hanging on. I just hate how Lori treated Rick. She doesn't deserve him, IMO.
I loved that too - talk about the big picture!! O_O Thank you, love! Guts is up next! Mwahahaha!

I remember now! Thanks for untwisting that. I need to watch it again so I can keep up with you. I'm not working this weekend.:)
Lori - I keep thinking she was using Shane just to hold onto some kind of sanity in all that mess. Of course, no one is good enough for Rick - except us.:D
Heh... I started getting impressed with Rick in the first scene when he could walk in cowboy boots. I think there's an art to that. Some guys look awkward as hell. Nothing awkward about him.
Looking forward to the next one!

I wouldn't have remembered that bit if I hadn't just watched it again.
She may very well have been using him for that. Or she could've just been hanging on to him because he was Rick's best friend. He's familiar to her, comforting, I guess. I hate to give her hell because I don't know what I'd do in that situation but still, she betrayed Rick. That's it for me. Hehe, you damn right about that ;D
There is that! And he can run in them. He's got a most excellent walk in those boots, just the right amount of swagger. And now I'm going to shut up before I start drooling over him again. ;P

I would love to see more of Morgan and Duane - there's a lot of story left to tell for those two!
I wasn't a big fan of 28 Days but I dig Dawn of the Dead. Might pull that out and watch it :D
