U know i've gotten to the point where i thought being nice was a GREAT thing but it isn't. I mean why shouldn't we all be nice to each other... but then i realized along the way that u may be nice to people but there are real assholes who don't care and will dislike u whether or not u're nice to them or not. Since i've realized that, I'm carrying

Hey, Danielle. I hope your summer's being going well. Anyway, I understand where you're coming from. Sometimes, in the past, I felt like people were stepping all over me and that I just let them because I was too nice/timid to stand up for myself. I got upset about certain comments from people but never confronted them, because I didn't want to make a big deal out of it. And you know, that was wrong. If you never stand up for yourself, you set yourself for people continuing to walk all over you. That's something I still have to work on
