So tell me - is it still considered drinking alone if you go out to a bar by yourself, but are surrounded with other people? People that came, met, and left with friends? People who already have their lives established and friendships created who really have no intention or desire to recruit a lonely, desperate wanderer into their ranks

nice!! funny you mention karaoke. some people, included me, had a little get together recently at around 11pm at an apartment and we played Karaoke Revolution. We were apparently so loud and awful that some douchedick called the cops on us. It wasn't even like a drinking party, it was people singing! laaaame. But I NAILED Under Pressure. I FAILED badly at Broken Wings. That song is impossible to sing if you don't know how it goes.

But yes, if you ever get to move back here, karaoke WILL happen!

Nice, I love convincing a machine that I can sing. If you truly have Karaoke mojo you should go the Bela Luna in Jamaica Plain on Tuesday nights... they have Karaoke with a LIVE BAND. Now that's hardcore!
