So, Mom calls me and says, I see that BIll signed for this package (Thursday) yet I haven't heard from you. Gosh, Mom. It was, yanno, EASTER? Before I can say anything, she starts in with the usual, "I don't know what I've done that you never call me," spiel. Really? Maybe making me feel LIKE CRAP every time I talk to you might have something to do ( Read more... )

Hanging up on someone is childish/immature/rude/etc.

*hugs* I'm sorry you have to deal with that. Mom and I have a good relationship so I can't even imagine being like that.

Though, the guilt trip sounds like what Grandma puts Dad through.

I think it is, too. You're lucky to have a good relationship with your mom. I'd like to have one with mine, but she's painted me as the villain in her internal opera.

Your poor dad. D:

Internal operas are never a good thing. They always end up badly.

I have to admit, I have hung up on someone before. It was when it reached the point of where they were spewing the same stuff over and over and clearly just not listening anymore. I didn't feel the need to stay on the line to be abused.

And I doubt anyone will get a full story on the Amazon thing.

And while my mind is playing association games (and is drugged, I fully admit to drugged)...should I poke your muses again, or was that Tachi's way of saying he didn't want to play?

I can see that. But would you hang up on anyone less than 2 minutes into a phone call? I can just imagine how my mom would react if I did that to her.

Probably not. They need PR cleaners.

Oh! Nope. I completely forgot. If I don't get to it tonight, I definitely will tomorrow. Mea culpa!

Shit, Song... :\

It's definitely not a mature way to behave (and really pretty dumb, if you live together), but I'll admit that my mom and I have intentionally hung up on each other a few times. All it does is make the other person really fucking mad and occasionally buy you a little time to think of a good(ish) argument.

Anyway; I was thinking about you today, since I couldn't remember seeing you post recently. I was glad to see a post, but I'm sorry it had to be one like this. :\ Much hugs. ♥

I'm more likely to make an excuse to get off the phone or at least say I'll talk to them later when everyone's calmed down. But I was raised in a don't talk back family.

Aww, were you? I've been so damn busy. I never replied to your Tick post, but it made me laugh. Lord, I love that cartoon. Hugs right back at ya! ♥

Seriously? Geez. My mom does things that she'd kill any of us kids for if we tried it on her. I don't get parents at all. At least it gives me a lot of, "I'll never do this!" moments for later on.

It helps. I'm much better today. Tomorrow, I'll be ready to try and talk to Mom again (even if I really don't want to now).

Adding now!
