politics are complicated and it's hard to tell if candidates will really do what they say they do. i think most people are scared of this complexity and so they try to take one or two issues and just vote on those. it's hard to stand back and see the big picture.

politics is a dirty rotten game in which there's no such thing as black and white, there are always shades of gray.

the thing i hate most about politics is that politicians are rewarded for doing shady things like misleading ads. it'd be hilarious if some major news networks would run all the ads and all the speeches on both sides in this campaign and point out all the lies and misleading statements and put in big red letters "[POLITICIAN NAME] IS A BIG FAT LIAR"

Well done, Katy! You make everything concise here.

Sometimes, a politician's (or his/her supporter's) greatest weakness is that they're too vague, for either party.

"Lower taxes...improve economy...unite the country..." etc.

That's great and all, but how?!?

It's terrific that you know exactly where you stand, because with a clarified goal, you can work towards that goal personally. Good on you! =]
