My Horrible Day at Work Today....

 In a nutshell...

Erick, one of the cooks, was messing up on orders a lot tonight. One thing in particular, he put a "for here" order in a "to go" bowl on accident. So he pushes that forward. Brett, the manager, sent it back and said, "This is for here! Can you read? Can't you read the screen?" And was getting really rude and insulting. Erick, ( Read more... )

Yeah, when they introduced "L" in the second episode, I was instantly reminded of your yellow guitar :P

I'm glad to hear you're watching that! ^_^

I had a situation like that a few months ago. Someone wandered into my cube and started an extremely bitter argument with his (and my) tech lead. I tried putting on headphones but it didn't help. More and more people joined the argument, and it got worse... I was very relieved when they decided to take it to a conference room.

Playing the situation back, I sort of wish I had politely asked them to leave. But on the other hand I think I'm glad I didn't get involved.

I debated putting Elfen Lied in there, but decided to leave it in when I remembered you'd read Sword of Truth. (Sword of Truth was actually too extreme for me -- I stopped after I think the third book.) I guess animated violence is worse than written violence.

For me, there is a HUGE different between written violence and movie violence. When I'm picturing violence when reading a book, the way I imagine things are a lot different then when I see something like Elfen Lied. I mean, I'm not imagining kittens and rainbows, but I'm not imagining this girl blowing off people's heads with her mind either....

I dunno, maybe I'm not making any sense.

We still haven't watched all of them yet...I am hesitant to watch Cowboy BeBop, only because I remember watching it a while back and not liking it...but then again I was like in middle school/high school. Maybe I could appreciate it better now.

P.S. That conflict at work for me was horrible. I hope that the next cook that they hire is a lot more friendly....I also wish Brett would quit and go somewhere else...he may be fast and have "15 years of food industry experience" but he's an asshole. He fails at dealing with people.

Yes, I remember stressful job tiemz. They are not fun. When I worked at food places, I could go into work in the best mood, and then a couple hours later be in the worst mood. Annoying how stressful jobs can get sometimes. And then you have crazy manager people like that guy you mentioned who just make it worse :S

Well get a job that makes you happy. I know you like teh moniez and stuff, but being all stressed out is not good for your soul :P lol

Feel better Katy! I heart you!

*sigh* I just want to work at a nice quiet job where I can think straight. Yesterday was horrible. I'm so glad that's over, and I'm so glad that I don't have to work until Monday.

Yeah...I definitely know this is not what I want for myself for the rest of my life, but this job sometimes makes me feel like I wouldn't be good at anything else. My job requires me to be fast and accurate. I can get the accurate part down to an art, but my problem is that I'm too slow at it apparently. I feel like most jobs always expect you to get things done in a quick manner, and get things right too, or else a conflict like this could happen.

I just haven't dealt with, or seen firsthand, a conflict quite like this before, so afterwards, I was just very shook up and kind of shocked about the whole thing. But I do realize that you are right...I don't have much room to expect everything to be perfect working at a Noodles & Company. I get that part.
