No, I haven't read the review... romansoldier November 20 2007, 04:29:45 UTC
Although pluggedin is usually very genuine, and sometimes generous even, it is still an arm of Focus on the Family, the group that robbed a generation of their Smurfs. So I'm inclined to be defensive when reading them ( ... )

“…a group that robbed a generation of their Smurfs!” that made me laugh out loud, dude! So cool! I love it! THEY ROBBED US OF OUR SMURFS! Hahaha, lol!

Thanks for saying everything you said, it really does help a lot. And pretty much everything everyone’s said just reaffirmed the decision we already made to let Anna read up to book 3/Goblet of Fire (because she wants to). and then she can read the rest after she turns 13, if she still wants to by that time & then it’s her decision.

My parents don’t really care-you know my mom & dad. they’re not about to read the Harry Potter books just to know what their daughter is reading-- they really have absolutely no interest in the Harry Potter world at all. & since I do, I kind of took on the responsibility of knowing what she’s reading & going to read myself.

I think I’ll probably read them over the summer. Or maybe once all my homework gets done… as like a reward system for getting stuff accomplished or something.

Heck, read them in a weekend, they go quickly. But be forewarned, once you get your start, you won't be able to stop. Jo's genius is that she doesn't believe in natural cutoff points, only cliff hangers on every other page with the filler pages so deliscious you think you are eating a cake you can never grow tired of...

You shan't regret it.

I read them the week of finals... it is a good study break thing, and you know how much time you have those few days.
