As exciting as this will be, I never found the Daniels' twins convincing as Jessica and Elizabeth. Granted, Francine set some pretty high expectations, but something about them always was a little "off" to me. Still, anyone who brings back Sweet Valley is OK by me!

I always thought they were too tall to be the twins. I agree, something was a little 'off'.

It will be really interesting to see if this happens (and if they go with the plot of SVC?!!)

I always thought it was the writing. The TV show felt as if it were trying to be what they thought SV should be, rather than what it was. Or using SV trying to make it a self-aware show for the 90's, which meant we lost some of the more ridiculous and AWESOME aspects of the books. For example, we never saw their parents. Did Steven even show up? (It just occured to me that it could be an issue of budget as well - fewer characters, cheaper production.) We didn't even get Bruce Patman and his wine served in paper cups :(

Then again, maybe my own standards are too high! Nothing will top the books for me. But I'm definitely curious about this reboot.

I think it was budget. In books, it didn't cost anything to add a new character. The TV show had maybe 8 people which made be wonder where everyone else was.
