I'm back after a few months' delay to recap SVU 36, Have You Heard About Elizabeth? Well, let's see. Perfect size six? Pacific Ocean-colored eyes? Matching barrettes? Master of the condescending shoulder pat? Yep, heard about her.
"She could think of only one way to come up with some cash--and that was to start returning the things she had bought." *FACEPALM*
Ugh this book makes me feel TIRED. (Not your recap. Your recap was great.)
The weird thing is now I'm older I'm like "Yeah, I'm sure 19-20 year olds would make these kind of bad decisions" but the ghostwriters never seem to be aware of how bad the decisions are.
Except with Denise, who is usually better than this from what I recall.
Yes, exactly! I know how dumb college kids can be--I was one once--but Denise was so over-the-top dumb in this book it kind of made me angry on her behalf. If the ghostwriter wanted to send an Important Message about credit cards, great, but at least make it realistic!
I bet she writes the slashiest fanfic, too. I'd... I'd read an entire book about Jess writing slashfic and getting caught up in some kind of fandom plagiarism debacle!!
I adore your snarky recaps. Thank you for doing them!
How can SVU books be so much dumber than SVHs? Or maybe I just attach too much sentimental value to SVH and they're just as bad. I was a pretty dumb kid anyhow... I actually believed that Elizabeth was ~practically perfect in every way~ uuuggghhhhh.
...and damnit, now I wanna find out what happens to Liz when she goes to that shitty school... I imagine that must last all of, hmmm... a week, tops? Sweet Valley time is kind of whacked out so who knows.

That line would have been so much better if it had ended, "or insisting that Elizabeth was blowing his horn, too."
Bahahaha!
