So yeah, here's the first picture. It's an owl. He's startled. I dunno why. If I start getting bogged down in the whys and wherefores of these pictures, I'm never going to get this project off the ground. So, startled owl. Deal with it.

oooh cool. Few questions. I know how you drew it, but how did you get the extra thick black outline and then how did you get the extra thick white outline?

This is something i've been wanting to do but have never figured out.

i'd do 2 versions of the outline of the owl and give one a thick black line and the other a thicker white line, making sure its underneath. and make aure your stroke is curved - ohhh!

i like it, the owl pic, that is. he looks scary to me but with the exclamation mark its a bit like metal gear - maybe he's gonna kill us!!!

The way I did it was to go > Object > Path > Offset Path, then make the edges bevelled on the black outline. Send that to the back, then do the same thing again, using white and rounded edges. Bada-bing.

There's no need to be so confrontational. I had already 'dealt' with the fact that you would doubtless not be explaining the reason for this owl's surprise thank you very much.
