Title: The Kiss
Fandom: Hetalia
Pairing: Prussia/Hungary
Theme: #18; Kiss
Rating: PG13 for Prussia’s potty mouth
Words: 499
Warnings: gender-bending
Notes: Nyotalia’verse: Nyotalia refers to the genderbent versions of the canon Hetalia characters. Nyotalia is a fandom-made term, started by the Japanese fandom, from the words nyotaika (which refers to male-to-female genderbends) and Italia (or, rather, Hetalia). Fanmade versions of other characters can often be seen in the tag along with the "canon" ones. In some instances, they are depicted as the characters actually genderbent, though the intention is for them to be completely different incarnations. It has become common to depict characters as the opposite gender in either fanart or fanfiction (for example, Germany as a female or Hungary as a male). In addition, designs of the opposite gender exist for certain characters, as Hidekaz Himaruya drew them for fun to see what the nations would be like. However, Himaruya also noted that when drawing the characters, he came up with their designs as if they were completely different people (if they were designed as females to begin with). This is presumably why some of them lack certain distinguishing details that their original versions had. From Hetalia Archives. My head-canon treats the Nyotalia characters as twins of the “original” characters. Please also note it was inspired by this bit of fanart: http://www.zerochan.net/525857

Prussia stormed into her younger brother’s house loudly calling for her twin. “Hey, Numbnuts! Where the hell are you?!” she bellowed as she strode through the house, her heels clicking on the hardwood floor. “Numbnuts! I know you’re here!! Old Fritz is looking for you!” She hurried past the front parlor only to backpedal when she noticed Gildbird’s cage. “Gilbird!” she squealed in delight as she hurried over to him. “You haven’t seen Numbnuts, have you?”

Gilbird cheeped in reply.

Prussia sighed, when suddenly her battle instincts kicked in and she felt it. There was someone else in the room with her. “Ummm…” she said. “Hello?”

She got a rich throaty laugh in reply. “Hello, Fräulein,” the person said in strangely accented German.

Prussia smiled. So it’s a man, hunh…? “Are you one of my idiot brother’s friends?” She turned to face him.

He smiled. “I’m not sure, especially since your brother never mentioned he had such a pretty sister. Then again, he seems to only have eyes for the pretty little maid, Fräulein Italien.”

Prussia giggled. “That’s my kleine Brüder, Holy Rome. I’m looking for the pain in the arsch.”

He raised his eyebrows at that, his smile broadening into a grin. “I’m sorry, Fräulein, I don’t believe I’ve met him.”

She snorted. “You’re lucky. So umm… what’s your name?” she asked as he closed the distance between them.

“Hungary and you?”

“Prussia.”

“Aaah… I’ve heard of him.”

Prussia looked up, meeting his gaze. “Yeah?” Verdammt he’s good looking… Just look at those green eyes… He’s prettier than Old Fritz… It was she could do not to sigh.

“Yeah… my sister’s husband or whatever the hell he is…” she snorted and he chuckled, “is always complaining about him. My sister too.” You have beautiful eyes, Fräulein Prussia…

“That’s Numbnuts for ya!” She gave him a cheeky grin.

Hungary nodded. He felt a sudden urge to kiss her, and resisting it, he sighed softly.

“Are you alright?”

“I’m fine…” Hungary reached out and brushed the hair from her eyes, trailing his fingers through the long silky white strands that framed her face. “Forgive me…”

Prussia felt her cheek heating up. Verdammt! What the hell’s the matter with me…? She felt her heart racing the way it did whenever she was in the heat of battle. Mein Gott! He’s going to kiss me!! Her eyes went wide as he leaned closer to her. But instead of the passionate kiss Prussia was expecting, Hungary brushed his lips chastely against her forehead. Flustered in a way no one had ever made her feel before, Prussia took a step backwards.

“Fräulein Prussia,” Hungary began. “I’m sorry… I… I never meant to…”

“Never meant to what?” she asked tartly.

“Uh…” Changing the subject, he said, “Would you like to go for a walk?”

She nodded, kicking herself for agreeing, but wanting to get to know him better. Her brother forgotten, she smiled as he led outside for a stroll in the in the gardens…
