Title: Nice Girl
Fandom: Glee
Characters: Artie/Kitty
Rating: G
Theme: Light
Words: 200
Summary: Kitty has a talk with Artie's mom.
Warnings: Spoilers for 4x21.

Nancy Abrams considered herself a good mother. Artie considered her the best by far; she had comforted him all his life, and she had been the one to take care of every need. She acclimated the house for him, for his wheelchair, ever since the fateful day he started needing it.

Kitty knew the second she met the woman that there wasn't a single mean thing she could say about her (and she was Kitty Wilde for crying out loud!). They had tea and discussed Artie's future, which was the reason she was here in the first place, and as she suspected she had no idea about Artie’s college plans, much less oppose them.

“Artie’s a good boy” Nancy tells her. “He’s growing up fast, and the safety of this house won’t hold him forever.”

“Everyone grows up, and everyone wants to leave Ohio” Kitty comments. “It would be good for him.”

“I know, he’ll keep growing up and growing away” she confesses. “But at least he’ll have a lovely girl like you to look after him, won’t he?”

She wanted to correct her, clarify their relationship, but stopped herself. Nobody had called her lovely before… felt kinda nice, actually.
