I started taking that religion quiz on Shelby's status and stopped because I had an epiphany. The main reason that I still believe in God, even though I hate the idea of religion and how narrow minded most Christians are, is because I am terrified of death

Yeah, what is that? The night that you had gotten into the fight online Joan and I were discussing how we wish we could believe because that would make "The Prince of Egypt" somehow even better.

the whole not existing thing...just think of all the peasants in like, medieval europe. there is absolutely no record of them as individuals, we just know they existed from old documents. to us they are just a mass of people, but at one point they had friends and lives like us.
I just don't see myself as that important to be scared of death. when you think of the countless living things in the world, we are just specks. it doesn't matter if I die. some people would be sad for a while, but then they'll die and that'll be it. our lives are so fleeting they don't really matter.

It's not that I think I'm important. And while there being no record of me existing is kind of scary too (and also not as likely these days lol) that's also not it. Whether people come to my funeral or not I'm just scared of not existing. It's just like, I like living lol, and I can't imagine not. So maybe its the fact I can't even conceive not existing is what scares me.

I see what you're afraid of and if you enjoy living so much then why would you want to go on for an eternity? It would be so dull. What we have now is real and if you don't see it like that then life is taken for granted. Says the introvert haha

Honestly, people can say that I'm possibly some kind of theist in that I like to believe that instead of souls we are this energy. And the law of conservation of energy clearly defines that matter can not be created or destroyed. Manipulation of matter! Fucking circle of life shit right here. But seriously, I haven't had that thought in a while and I'll need to do a lot more researching on it.

Conclusion: there is no point in this life if our subconscious lives on.
