Yup. I remember this. I remember most the woman that stood outside with the sign that said, "I moved here to get away from ignorant fucks like you."
Even having been raised as an extremely conservative Christian, going to things sort of like this only with more music, I have never understood where people have the hubris to lay out the idea of an all-encompassing god on one hand and then the need for warriors to "fight" the things that are against him on the other.
Idiots.
On a positive note, I really did spend a good part of my teen years at Christian rallies, and you know how I turned out. Some of those 17K kids will snap out of it.
I have read that one many times as well. It may be why Gigsville ended a Texas wedding with the benediction, "Breed, Freaks! BREED!" While I admire the maturity of people to decide that it isn't in them to be good parent and to, therefore, resist the social cues to have children, I do worry about the fact that some of the smartest people I know have definite designs on no kids, while I see so many imbeciles with 4 or 5.
Yeah, sometimes i feel guilty about not wanting kids for precisely that reason... but not guilty enough to change my mind. Well at least there are a few brave souls like yourself who are making sure that freakdom will survive to subvert the dominant paradigm for a while to come :)
